Born in the Bronx New York Booker graduated from Delaware State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising. After working as a freelance clothing designer for several urbanwear companies Booker created his own collection of women’s streetwear. Parental obligations became a prority and to provide stability for his son and daughter he sacrificed his dreams of designing to become a juvenile counselor for the New York City Department of Juvenile Justice. His new book details the journey of transformation in himself as he struggled with a system that is broken, an administration that prevented rehabilitation of the youth, and the youth who were caught up in the the system.

We get real as Booker shares his story and we talk about the very real problems that need addressing.
